Job Description:
Capex budget Management:
•Ensure variation orders are minimal for all fibre equipment projects under implementation
•Ensure minimal inventory cost bordering basically on impairment of fibre materials
•Ensure that cost of implementing fibre projects is within budget
Monthly Rollout Targets Management:
•Ensure minimal delay of national and metropolitan (including NFEs) fibre delivery targets
•Ensure minimal impact of logistics and procurement issues relating to fibre equipment projects delivery
•Ensure excellent quality of fibre projects delivery monthly


Ensure quality of implementation adhere to defined standard:
•Ensure that all segments and spans of fibre equipment projects timelines are strictly followed by contractors
•Ensure completeness and standard material order such as optical equipment and fibre optic cables for fibre delivery projects
•Ensure that all fibre network installations meet MTN Quality and international standards, such as ITU Recommendations on Fibre deployment
Other Generic Tasks
•Review detailed fibre designs with NWG Planning and Operations and add inputs in deployment of fibre equipment projects
•Survey and produce suitable implementation procedures for fibre equipment projects
•Ensure testing, commissioning, acceptance and integration of fibre equipment
•Provide high level support to all fibre equipment vendors/installation contractors
•Ensure contractors adherence to MTNN’s SHE policy
•Ensure that fibre equipment projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standard as stipulated by MTN standard and specifications
•Process and follow up of purchase orders and certificate of completion for fibre equipments
•Ensure proper archiving procedure for all completed MTN fibre equipment network projects
•Participate and add inputs to weekly operational fibre equipment network meetings with implementation contractors
•Monitor, collate, and submit weekly progress report on fibre equipment projects under implementation to fibre management team
•Coordinate final acceptance test and handover of completed fibre equipment network to NWG Operations unit
•Ensure the digitalization of all completed fibre equipment projects
Job Conditions: Open Plan Office Normal MTNN working conditions Extended working hours may be required overtime
Reporting To: National Fibre Implementation Manager
Required Skills:
•At least 4 years working experience comprising:
•Experience in the Telecommunication industry
•Excellent knowledge in Telecommunication equipment in the areas of installation, Operation and Maintenance
•Good knowledge on Optical Transmission Technology
•Experience in managing and suggesting solutions to application’s problem Work with vendors at arriving and implementing solutions identified
•Experience in Fibre equipment management
•Excellent knowledge on interoperability of Telecom sub-networks
•Good Knowledge of Fibre Optic Network Planning, Deployment Operation and Maintenance

Qualification:
First degree in Electronics/ Communication Engineering/Electrical Engineering or any other related field
