Job Description:
•Virtualization and consolidation technology implementation (eg, Cloud Computing and Infrastructure as a service)
•Progressive storage, backup and recovery technologies
•Direct, manage, and support the acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposition of components supporting infrastructure technologies.
•Manage or participate in the development of policies, practices and procedures (eg. Infrastructure build standards)
•Manage or participate in testing and implementing when necessary, emergency procedures and disaster recovery plans.
•Conduct infrastructure technology across the IS Division and at Group Level.
•Ensure a coherent and stable service across MTN Nigeria
•Ensure that infrastructure architectural design cater for organic and inorganic growth
•Ensure that the capacity of IT infrastructure is able to deliver the agreed service level targets in a cost effective and timely manner
•Ensure stable infrastructure platform
•Ensure high availability of infrastructure
•Ensure Business continuity of IS Operations
•Monitor vendors compliance to SLA and ensure implementation of penalties
•Ensure that the Data Centre network evolution moves towards virtualization and consolidation
•Ensure that Data Centre uses new and advanced cooling technologies (green technologies)
•Ensure that the storage investment is governed by a clear Storage roadmap
•Strategically drive infrastructure technology roadmap for all domains within infrastructure. That includes Database, Enterprise Systems Management, Unix and Storage.
•Establish and drive the infrastructure level 3 team to serve as technology approval forum, technical service improvement and production gate keepers
•Establish problem management support model for the whole of IS Infrastructure
•Drive utilization of the existing infrastructure to ensure a reduction in Opex
•To ensure that the value for the IS Infrastructure projects is unlocked and that benefits are realized
Job Conditions: General working conditions. May be required to work extra hours. Occasional local and international travel often at short notice.
Reporting To: GM Infrastructure
Required Skills:
•Minimum 12 years working experience of
•5+ years on in IT related disciplines; specifically computer infrastructure environment
•3+ years of architecture and technology planning
•2-4 years experience at management level.

Qualification:
First degree in any discipline preferably Computer Science or equivalent. MCP, MCSE, CCNA, ITIL. Masters Degree in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
