Role Summary/Purpose:
SSA a dynamic region that has demonstrated significant growth opportunities for GE Energy Infrastructure, incorporating Oil & Gas, Power and Water and Energy Services.
The Region Controller will play a key role in driving controllership rigor and focus across the 48 countries covered by the region. The business represents a fast paced, growing region with orders reaching ~$1.5B in 2010.
Essential Responsibilities
The Region Controller will play a key role in driving controllership rigor and focus across the 48 countries covered by the region. The business represents a fast paced, growing region with orders reaching ~$1.5B in 2010.
Essential Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a regional controllership rhythm, incorporating cross business metrics at a region / country level;
Partner with Energy HQ controllership team, business controllership teams and in country operations, to drive timely and consistent execution of processes and initiatives;
Partner with the region CFO in building a strong partnership with GBS to ensure consistency of approach and engagement between Energy and GBS across the region;
Provide controllership oversight and compliance of processes as new country operations are established;
Identify and support deployment of controllership and compliance focused training into the region to both finance and operations teams;
Partner with Energy internal audit teams to support region site review activities;
Lead engagement with KPMG and CAS on proactive identification of issues and regional audit engagement.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of progressive finance experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, supporting strong fundamental accounting skills
Experience in a controllership or statutory accounting environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written), interacting with multiple levels across the organization
Ability to adjust to varying priorities in a dynamic environment, work under pressure, independently prioritize tasks & to meet deadlines
Strong excel and power point skills
Desired Characteristics
