Job description
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
Act as COMPANY’s Engineering Representative on site.
Co-ordination with COMPANY’s Engineering Team based in Lagos.
Provide Engineering Solutions at site.
Engineering Supervision at site
Ensure compliance with Technical Scope of Work, Applicable Codes & Standards and COMPANY General Specifications.
Ensure COMPANY Quality Control procedures are adhered to by CONTRACTOR
Co-ordination of all Engineering Disciplines and Architectural Finishes.
Responsible for Survey Control on site and the accuracy of all setting out and construction of Building Elements.
Provide Technical Leadership and Vision at the highest level to promote and implement innovative/cutting edge engineering methods & safe systems of work for effective buildability of construction.
Co-ordinate with COMPANY Detailed Engineering Co-ordinator.
MAIN ACTIVITIES :
Review and Approval of all Engineering documentation issued by the CONTRACTOR.
Review and Approval of Vendor Submittals, Specifications and Data sheets.
Co-ordination of all Building Services
Co-ordination of Architectural Finishes
Carrying out Engineering Inspections of all works at site.
Prepare answers to CONTRACTOR Technical Queries.
Co-ordinate where required with COMPANY’s Engineers based in Engineering Office in Lagos.
Ensure Technical / Contractual Interfaces between Third Party Authority and CONTRACTOR.
Ensure relevant documents are reviewed systematically by the appropriate COMPANY discipline leaders. Record and formally transmit any comments to/from CONTRACTOR.
Organize on request and/or at sole initiative when deemed necessary, meetings with relevant COMPANY specialists.
Assist in Project Planning and Reporting. Prepare reports as necessary.
Attend and chair where required weekly engineering meetings.
Issuing of Non Conformance Reports and following up on Close out and Corrective action by CONTRACTOR
Follow up/Monitoring of documentation processing on PRODOM. Ensure all documents are transferred to PRODOM.
Act as COMPANY Temporary Works Co-ordinator
Providing Temporary works designs where required
Issuing of Permits to Load and Permits to Strike
Review and approval of CONTRACTOR Temporary Works Design
Review and co-ordination of Lifting Plan approvals with COMPANY Lifting Co-ordinator.
Review and approval of CONTRACTOR Method Statements and Risk assessments.
Overall control of engineering systems, documentation and controls which comply with Health & Safety legislation, Company and industry standards.
Providing input into the preparation of Tender Documents.
Provide buildability solutions in Detailed Engineering.
Review and approval of operations and maintenance manuals.
Management of Commissioning activities of the Camps
Setting a personal example in adherence to Total E&P Nigeria HSE procedures.
Ensuring that Company HSE rules and procedures are known and understood by subordinates.
Raising awareness and providing guidance in directing employees with regard to the execution of the HSEMS, both for Company Staff and Contractors without detracting from Contractor’s legal obligations.
Ensuring compliance with Company rules, procedures and instructions and applicable National and Local legislation.
Assuring the safety of the worksite throughout construction activities through good engineering solutions.
Taking the necessary measures to avert immediate threat of danger.
Exercising such caution as is necessary to avoid danger to persons and installation and prevent pollution.
Job requirements
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Degree holder preferably in Civil / Structural Engineering.
Strong background as Project Engineer
Minimum of 10 years experience in Civil and Building Engineering preferably in Engineering Co-ordination.
Training and certification in Temporary Works Design
Capable of preparing Lifting plans
Minimum of 15 years working experience and a minimum of 5 years in Management of Engineering of buildings.
Extensive experience in Buildings
Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
Fluent in English, autonomous, highly motivated, rigorous, ability to motivate and influence people.
Problem solving ability, required to facilitate site construction
Broad knowledge of Civils, architectural, mechanical, electrical, telecom, plumbing, inspection & testing disciplines.
