Our client
Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a multi-faceted engineering company to recruit a Construction Manager for its operations in Nigeria.
Job description
Responsible for planning, co-ordination and control of a construction project from its inception to the time it is completed.
Ensure the client’s requirements regarding the functionality and standards are met and project is concluded successfully.
Overseeing the selection of trade contractors and general contractors who are ideal for the completion of a project
Supervising or monitoring the hiring and firing of construction workers
Obtaining the necessary licenses or permits
Monitoring the compliance with set regulations
Responsibilities
Define project scope which include planning, directing and coordinating the construction project from beginning to completion stage with associated communications documents
Scheduling and coordinating all types of design during the construction process
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Prepare and control of the financial expenditures of the site, to be within the agreed budget, capable of establishing, site budget and cash flow projections
Managing Resources (purchase /equipments) at site
Ensuring company HSE policy is correctly applied
Preparation and updating of the project construction programme weekly /monthly for both internal and external, in accordance with agreed practise
Maintaining good relations, represent and take care of company's interests while dealing with clients and consultants.
Ensuring company QA/QC standards are fully adhered to
Maintain all reports pertaining to admin, accidents reports and records and other records required by law
Experience in either Microsoft Project or Primavera is desirable.
Must have experience in road / bridge construction.
Qualifications et experience
Minimum qualifications include a relevant degree in Civil engineering or construction management from an internationally recognized university.
Minimum 5 + years direct work experience in project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
Strong working knowledge in civil road construction/bridges/culverts
Committed to a minimum of 3+ years full-time living & working in Nigeria.
Must possess demonstrable and measurable success in a similar role in a large or medium sized construction company ideally within Nigeria or within a similar challenging environment.
Must possess Communication, Analytical, Managerial, Leadership and Organizational skills.
Must have experience in road construction
Must have knowledge of electrical and hydraulic system
