Role Summary/Purpose:
GE's resourcing teams are at the heart of our ability to attract and hire the very best talent available to drive our continued growth. As a result of our strategic recruitment planning, business focus and increasing regional growth, GE Global Growth & Operations is seeking to hire a Recruitment Leader into our Sub-Saharan Africa region to support all of our business verticals. This position could be based in Lagos, Luanda or Johannesburg.
Essential Responsibilities This is a “start-up” position, required to establish and lead the staffing and roll out of the region's Recruiting Center of Excellence, with the ultimate objective of creating and implementing a cost-effective recruitment process that hires high quality and diverse candidates to GE. The key challenges would be to:
• Drive GE's growth by recruiting top talent to GE’s businesses across Sub Saharan Africa (SSA),
• Deliver a step change in the quality and diversity of external candidates and strengthen GE’s existing talent sourcing structure.
You will work with the GE SSA HR Council and key stakeholders including hiring managers, HR managers and business leaders to create and lead the Staffing COE for SSA. As the Regional Recruitment Leader you will ensure that the Center of Excellence delivers the following:
• For Internal Candidates: Operate the internal vacancy posting system, collect self-nominations, screen and provide shortlists to hiring managers.
• For External candidates: Source and assess candidates by utilising a broad range of sourcing channels including media, job-boards and databases. Use all available GE tools (i.e. Hire Systems and posting tools) to source external candidates based on job descriptions and briefings with hiring managers. Interview and assess all external candidates based upon position requirements to create high quality candidate shortlists for hiring managers.
• Business support: Account-manage the end-to-end recruitment process ensuring all stakeholders understand accountabilities and goals placing emphasis on candidate experience. Ensure hiring managers and HR Managers are supported through the hiring cycle.
• Tracking and Reporting: Track and report all candidate information, plus all internal-external processing information. Provide business and corporate analysis reports to key stakeholders. Provide monthly business and corporate staffing and recruiting analysis based on defined SLA’s and metrics within the constraints of GE’s systems capabilities.
• Proactive sourcing: Execute strategic sourcing initiatives to create a pipeline of talent for the businesses and ensure that GE leads the market in sourcing talent across the region. Translate business and headcount plans into proactive recruitment through all attraction channels including market mapping, headhunting, networking, employee referrals, networking and internet mining.

• Minimum of 10 years experience in Recruiting either in an in-house Corporate recruitment function, search firm or RPO.
• Minimum of 3 years experience leading a team of recruiters in an in-house environment or search firm.
• University degree.
• Demonstrated leadership, change management, problem-solving, organisational and analytical skills.
• Self starter with the ability to take initiative and responsibility and create new processes and services.
• Excellent Business Partnering skills with ability to influence at all levels of the business.
• Ability to lead cross-functional and diverse teams in a virtual environment.
• Proven project management and process improvement experience.
• Good understanding of technology and how it can be used to improve business processes.
• Customer focused.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Metrics and SLA focused.
