Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a maritime offshore company to recruit a Deputy Purchase Manager.
Job description
The Deputy Purchase Manager will assist the Country Purchase Manager. He will supervise the procurement team.
Monitor & improve purchasing performance in Nigeria for the fleet and on behalf of other ship managers
Define and implement appropriate organization and processes
Create and update links about orders via TA or Oracle between the different entities of the Group.
The position is based in Onne – Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Supervise the procurement team in order to be effective and efficient
Responsible for supplying according to vessel and base requirements with local purchasing : Expected outcome: Timely delivery ; KPI : Budget respect, Local non conformity delivery, Suppliers compliance with Group Purchasing process
Responsible for identifying the panel of providers in Nigeria
Responsible for rolling out Oracle PO
Responsible for monitoring the purchasing cost objectives.
Set up global contracts and maintain good communication and relationship with key strategic suppliers to ensure availability, quality goods and services and cost competitiveness.
Create / implement / Improve procurement, sourcing and contract policies and procedures.
Develop and implement long-term procurement strategies and manage efficient logistics.
Participate in company’s contracting requirements and maximize contract purchasing of all critical / major equipments and spare parts.
Develop effective measurements and KPI’s that meet supplier service level agreements.
Ensure that contracts with suppliers / service providers are within the allotted budget.
Qualifications and experience
Degree from a recognized University
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Procurement/Purchase gained in an international exposure with reputable international firms preferably in Marine & Offshore services
Good understanding of supply chain Management
Knowledge of ERP (Oracle preferably)
Negotiation skills
Experienced in purchasing
Client oriented
Ability to work within multicultural team
Able to move in international environment (language / culture).
Fluent in English
