Vacancy Description
The Plant Engineer is responsible for the functional availability of all operating equipment and infrastructure within Oando’s terminals and plants under his jurisdiction.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(A) PROJECT MANAGEMENT REPONSIBILITIES
· Conceptualization and development of all Engineering Projects in the Plant
· Provide inputs from conceptual engineering to Front End Engineering Design (FEED) engineer, procure, construct, operate and Maintain activities
· Development and documentation of project execution plan into plant project schedule
· Develop cost estimate of each project phase.
· Develop Project control plan
· Updating and sending of project status on project schedule and highlighting of outstanding project execution plan to head office project team
· Generation of project progress curve and establish project cost and time effectiveness and efficiency
· Review Design deliverables, participate in Hazard operability study (HAZOPS) review and monitor the follow-up recommendations from head office project team
· Monitor and coordinate the approval of all specification and design changes and contribute to close-out reports.
· Ensure Strict compliance with project control plan
· Assist in timely financial closeout of projects
· Send daily project progress report to head office
· Preparation of all engineering design and standards for outsourced Jobs within the plant
PLANT MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Co-ordinate and maintain an aggressive maintenance crew to ensure hitch free loading and Production activities.
· Maintain regular service program for all equipment in the Plant in order to maintain efficiency of equipments.
· Monitor the efficiency and correct use of all equipment in the Plant.
· Ensure Maintenance team and contractor adheres strictly to Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.
· Ensure close Monitoring and supervision of maintenance repair in the Plant to ensure it meets technical specifications and international standards
· Suggest and generate report for the phasing out of obsolete equipment.
· Identify problems of equipment that militate against optimal production processes and proffer solution.
· Ensure that plant technician keep to the routine checks of equipment before commencing operations.
· Ensure the use of competent contractors for jobs beyond maintenance crew ability.
· Generate Monthly Maintenance Report to Technical service engineer via the Plant Manager.
· Advise Tender Committee on technical issues (Member) and secretary of the Plant assets disposal committee
· Raise Work permit as a necessary prerequisite before the commencement of jobs.
· Raise necessary documents for payment of contractor’s bill
· Certify that end products of contractor meet the required standard.
· Generation of fortnightly weekly equipment and machines status report to Head engineering via the Plant Manager
· Supervision and maintenance of all engineering equipment and machines in Kaduna LPG plant
· Assist Production crew in operation when the Production Manager is on Leave.
· Assist the production Manager in plant operation when the Plant Manager is on leave
CAPEX AND OPEX CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of plant yearly OPEX and CAPEX budget
Maintaining and operation of CAPEX and OPEX of Plant with KLP-Finance Team
Coordinate and Register of all plant maintenance expenditure inputs into associated cost center with the necessary account codes
Review of monthly OPEX and CAPEX actual expenditures against Approved Budget OPEX and CAPEX with KLP-Finance Team
Review and ensure the proper Verification of all payment invoices
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1st degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
Professional Accreditation is an advantage
3 - 5 years cognate experience within the Oil & Gas industry
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
