Our client
Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading Logistics Group to recruit a Warehouse Manager for its operations in Nigeria.
Job description
The warehouse manager is responsible of planning, organizing and controlling of a warehouse’s over-all operations in multiple warehouses in Lagos and in the North; he organizes activities & assigns jobs accordingly to the staff.. He also has to manage stock control, the receipt, storage, retrieval of goods. In most cases, the manager has to supervise shipment loading & transferring and keep records of documents by entering data into the system.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
He has to plan out all warehouse resources and activities in keeping with the company’s objectives and targets
He also makes plans for the development of the staff by organising training sessions together with the HR department
He has to ensure that all the health and safety requirements are met and also has to take responsibility for the security of the building and stock
He has to maintain and issue inventory report, entry and exit status report, dead stock report, goods age report, consumption report, manpower status report to the logistics manager
He should also find out and implement cost reduction measures in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activities
He must also create daily work logs and do audit of daily labour and billing reports
He should suggest measures of improvement and development of the warehouse
He must also motivate his staff to make an effective and efficient team
He also has to negotiate rates with common carrier representatives
Qualifications et experience
A bachelor’s degree in commerce or management degree may be required
A minimum of 8 years work experience in a similar position.
He must have good leadership skills and take charge of the warehouse operations
He should be organised and systematic
He should motivate his staff and be good with numbers
Team oriented and outgoing
Excellent communication skills encompassing written, verbal and presentation skills.
