I am recruiting for an Instrumentation And Controls Engineer with a Strong Telecomms background to be based in Nigeria on a Staff basis.
Job Details
To administratively manage the Instrumentation and controls Discipline, mainly through:
Providing technical support to staff on a day-to-day basis.
Reviewing staff capability with the view to improvement where required, identifying training needs for all new and existing employees;
Reviewing staff performance on projects and recommending recovery plans where required.
Coordinating quality related corrective and preventative action within the Discipline.
Approving staff time-sheets.
Contributing to the recruitment of Discipline staff.
Development and maintaining tools and methods to improve the Discipline’s efficiency and technical competence.
Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits as required.
Contributing towards, maintaining and implementing both company and client HSE management System objectives and procedures.
Complying and ensuring the discipline’s compliance with the applicable company’s procedures for the Engineering Department and the Instrumentation and Controls Discipline.
To manage the Company’s technical Instrumentation & Controls engineering requirements through:
Coordination with Project Managers on project related critical issues.
Reviewing and approving of all inputs to proposals.
Implementing benchmarking.
Ensuring that QA procedures are maintained by staff.
Ensuring that department budget and targets are met; Follow-up of progress with respect to man-hour control and planning on projects and proposals.
Approving the quality procedures issued within the discipline.
Maintaining and building tools and methods to improve the efficiency.
Collecting and analyzing all the project feedback and adding to Discipline databases.
Representing the company during clarifications / negotiations on Discipline related matters.
Using previous project and proposal feedback for corrective actions
Operationally, the Head of Discipline carries a set of administrative and control responsibilities, which also fall within the scope of daily Discipline organization.
These are:
Ensuring that the project costs and schedule are controlled through monitoring man-hours and planning on all projects and proposals.
Reviewing all Discipline documentation for compliance with the scope of work.
Developing the scope of work and monitoring costs for Consultant assistance on special activities.
Introducing / developing new technology / superior tools and procedures for the implementation of a project.
Coordination with other Disciplines to ensure that the interfaces are correctly identified and information is correctly transferred. Inter-disciplinary coordination and inter disciplinary checks for engineering documents and drawing.
Resolving technical coordination issues between disciplines and Clients.
Maintaining control of technical content and quality from sub-contractors.
Controlling sub-contractor costs associated with increase in scope.
Reviewing the technical capability of discipline staff.
Compiling and approving the final documentation for the project
Profile
As a graduate engineer, you have a confirmed experience in related experience in oil and gas FEED and Detailed Engineering projects onshore/offshore at least 15 years with a minimum of 2 /5 years in a managerial function and in proposals and 10 years in design.
You should have a rigorous approach to your work and a strong capacity to organize and plan ahead.
