Job description
• Implement the safety policy of Project reports to his line manager and the Operations Safety Leader, all unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents, which may occur during the construction execution.
• Assist his Head of Construction in his duty which covers all instrumentation construction phases, including preservation, construction methods, yard pre-fabrications, construction, equipment installation, mechanical completion, commissioning and operations as they relate to his discipline.
• Ensures that instrumentation engineering contractors submit all deliverables as at when due with appropriate reviews and approvals after implementation of comments.
• Prepare Technical Scope of Work for Contractor / Vendor activities
• Organize Vendor mobilization for the performance of the Work
• Check and liaise with Contractor for timely availability of suitable resources
• Ensure the implementation of procedures, ITP, specifications, drawings, certificates, working instruction for all construction works related to his assigned scope of work
Check that the Contractor works related to his discipline are carried out in accordance with the latest revision of drawings and documents
• Check that appropriate documents are available on site in the last issued revision
• Control the equipment adequacy for the related construction work and the validity of the site equipment certificates
• Witness all installation of his discipline equipment; ensure that they have been carried out in accordance with drawings, installation procedures and vendor recommendations
• Highlight all problems relating to the quality of the works performed by the Contractor
• Highlight potential risks of delay in the construction execution, propose remedial actions and expedite the implementation of remedial actions
• Provides technical support to the FPSO Instrumentation team when required.
• Read and interpret instrumentation engineering drawings, designs and make necessary modifications or recommendations prior to transmittal to site for implementation.
• Draws up and cross-check relevant procedures, international standards and COMPANY General Specifications for instrumentation scope of works during field implementation.
• Coordinates the activities for the integration of all new instrumentations appurtenances to be deployed on the FPSO.
• Takes responsibility to ensure safe procedures and work practices are maintained at all times and familiarize himself with emergency procedures applicable to working on an FPSO.
• Carries out his duties diligently and according to COMPANY procedures, and in such a manner to minimize unsafe exposure to himself and team mates and reports any incident, unsafe act or operation to the FPSO’s Operating Authority.
• Take photographs of all construction phases related to his assigned scope of work.
Job requirements
Minimum Qualification: B.Sc./B.Eng. (Instrumentation Eng.) with 5 - 10 years experience in Instrumentation Engineering design, Site supervision, Installation, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning in an Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Industry preferably on an FPSO.
Experience: Verifiable experience in the use of MS Office packages, AutoCAD and commissioning software like ICAPS will be an added
Nigerian candidates required.
