Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading Nigerian Construction Yard to recruit a Yard Production Manager.
Job description
The candidate will be responsible for all production operation on the Construction Yard.
He will be responsible for the planning, coordination and control of the manufacturing processes of different projects for international clients.
He will be responsible to coordinate all productions on the Yard and to supervise that operations are done at the right cost and at the right level of quality.
He reports to the GM Yard.
This position is based in Port Harcourt.
Responsibilities
Operation Management
General management of the Yard operations.
Coordination of all projects with the project managers.
Manage the different departments: Yard, Production, Painting department, QA/QC, Engineering and suppliers.
Working out the human and material resources needed by the Yard to support all projects.
Supervising and motivating the workers.
Reviewing the performance of subordinates and identifying training needs.
Production
Managing pre-production and production process.
Estimating costs and setting up quality standards.
Overseeing the production process, setting up production schedules.
Ensuring that all production projects are cost effective.
Making sure that the projects are produced on time and with respect of quality standards.
Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.
HSE & Quality
Monitoring production standards and implementing quality-control programmes.
Working with managers to implement the company's policies and goals.
Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.
Qualifications et experience
Chartered Engineer with at least 15-25 years experience in the O&G fabrication industry.
Should have worked as an in charge of production in a Fabrication Yard of repute and run it as an independent profit centre, handling both onshore as well as offshore fabrication.
Should have managed a team of qualified production engineers and supervisors with 10+ years experience and also around 500+ frontline workforce comprising of fabricators, welders, scaffolders, painters, riggers and the like.
Should know perfectly well all welding procedures: SAW,FCAW, SMAW.
Should know all specific heavy lifting procedures.
Should be familiar with the painting process.
Should be well conversant with Productivity norms, systems for tracking productivity and should be highly cost conscious.
Would be required to handle complex situations at work place, should have concern for people and organization development and work towards the achievement of both, should be highly innovative and systematic in approach.
The person should be highly energetic and a good team leader with a proven progressive track record. Adept at problem solving and handling conflicts at workplace.
Good analytical and logical reasoning skills.
African experienced would be a plus.
Good hands on experience in MS Project / Primavera, MS Office software.
Working language: English.
