Job Title: Manager, Supplier Quality Assurance

Job Description:
• Develop mechanisms for supplier selection and retention activities in line with best practices
• Drive the development of local content within the constraints of the environment and the economy
• Develop network of enterprises who can offer good value for unwanted MTN assets
• Ensure relevant staff understand the concept of value for money, and abide by whatever mechanism is established for achieving it
• Lead, manage and develop MTNN supplier quality assurance requirements including update and management of the supplier profile questionnaire process
• Due Diligence, Supplier Audit and Supplier Performance Evaluation
o Develop the due diligence standards and verification process for suppliers
o Ensure verification of the shareholding and ownership of companies with CAC to ascertain beneficial ownership of supplier organisations
o Develop, monitor and control the process and standards for supplier audits
o Develop, monitor, control and update the supplier performance evaluation, monitoring and rating process
o Develop criteria for measuring suppliers using a rating system
o Develop criteria and conditions for the blacklisting and/or grey listing of suppliers
o Control and monitor the blacklisting and/or grey listing of suppliers
o Manage the MTNN Approved Supplier List to ensure continual improvement
o Develop, monitor and control the process and standards for product performance evaluation
• Local Content
o Develop and manage a classification scheme for MTN’s product/service requirements
o Identify indigenous or local suppliers that have the potential to provide inputs that are mainly foreign-sourced
o Identify opportunities to develop business relationships with such suppliers
o Develop reporting format and metrics for the local content element of MTNN’s operations
• Asset Disposal
o Coordinate the activities required to achieve disposal of unwanted MTN assets
o Identify enterprises that can provide the most economical value for assets to be disposed
o Provide periodic updates on asset disposal activities
• Data Management
o Define and control the data and document management process for the unit
Job Conditions:
Normal MTNN working conditions. Shift based work (24/7/365)
Reporting To: Senior Manager, Procurement
Required Skills:
• A professional qualification in Quality Management, Accounting, or Purchasing & Supply
At least 8 years related work experience in a reputable organisation which includes:
• Providing quality assurance services to clients
• Supplier account management
• Contract management
• Supervisory/ managerial experience
Employment Status : Permanent
Qualification:
A good first degree in a science, engineering or any numerate discipline
